Berea

Quizzes & Flashcards

How Berea tests your recall with auto-generated quizzes and spaced repetition.

2 min read

Testing yourself on sermon content is one of the most effective ways to retain it. Berea generates quizzes and flashcards automatically from each sermon's transcript.

Quizzes

Each quiz contains 7–10 questions drawn from the sermon's key points, scripture references, and application content. Question formats include:

  • Multiple choice — identify the correct answer from four options.
  • Short answer — type your response to an open-ended question.
  • Scripture fill-in — complete a Bible verse mentioned in the sermon.

After the quiz, you see a score with a breakdown of what you got right and missed. The app tracks your score over time so you can retake a quiz weeks later and see if retention has improved.

Flashcards

Flashcards are generated alongside the quiz. Each card has a question on the front and the answer on the back. Swipe or tap to flip. Swipe right to mark as known, left to review again — classic spaced repetition.

Generating quizzes and flashcards

Tap the Quiz tab on any sermon to generate. If a quiz already exists, you can tap Retake to test yourself again with the same questions.

Tip

Take the quiz 24–48 hours after the sermon — not immediately after. Testing yourself when the content has had a chance to fade slightly forces deeper recall and locks it in more durably.
