How to import sermons and teachings from YouTube videos.

Many churches and ministries publish their sermons on YouTube. Berea can import the transcript directly from any YouTube video that has captions — which includes the vast majority of sermon channels.
How to import a YouTube video
- 1Find the sermon on YouTube and copy the video URL (tap Share → Copy Link).
- 2In Berea, tap the + button on the home screen.
- 3Select Import YouTube.
- 4Paste the URL and tap Import.
- 5Berea extracts the captions and creates a new sermon entry.
What you get
YouTube captions are already clean and formatted — they don't need the same polishing process as live audio transcriptions. Berea imports them as-is and timestamps each paragraph so you can tap any line to jump to that moment in the video.
Once the transcript is imported, you can generate summaries, extract prayers, create quizzes, and use the chat — all the same features available for live recordings.
What if the video has no captions?
If a video has no captions (auto-generated or manual), Berea will let you know during import. In this case, try downloading the audio and using the audio import feature instead.
