What is Berea?
An overview of what Berea does and who it's built for.

Berea is an iOS app built for anyone who wants to get more out of the sermons, Bible studies, and teachings they attend. It captures what you hear, helps you understand it more deeply, and keeps it accessible long after the service ends.
The core problem Berea solves
Research shows that most people forget over 90% of what they hear within a week. Sermons are meant to shape how we live and think — but if they vanish from memory by Monday morning, that transformation rarely has a chance to take hold.
Berea addresses this by turning passive listening into an active, searchable record of your faith journey.
What Berea does
- Records and transcribes — Start a live recording during a service and watch the transcript appear in real-time. Or import audio files and YouTube videos after the fact.
- Polishes and organizes — After recording, Berea automatically cleans up the transcript, detects the sermon structure, and generates a clean, readable summary.
- Extracts prayers and study material — Prayers mentioned during the sermon become a personal prayer list. The app generates quizzes, flashcards, and cross-references to help you study further.
- Translates — If you worship in a language other than your native tongue, Berea can translate the transcript into your preferred language automatically.
- Lets you chat — Ask questions about a specific sermon or search across your entire library using natural language.
Who it's for
Berea is built for regular churchgoers, small group leaders, students of theology, and anyone who takes their faith seriously. Whether you attend in person, stream online, or listen to podcasts, Berea works wherever you get your teaching.
